First release! Huanyu Zhixing launches domestic autonomous driving software.

On September 17, at the 2018 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Shanghai, Huanyu Zhixing released its self-developed autonomous driving software "ATHENA". This software is at a leading level in China, compatible with 5G communication networks, and enables intelligent convoy driving, which will accelerate the mass production of autonomous vehicles.
The "ATHENA" autonomous driving software was developed by the Huanyu Zhixing R&D team after 10,000 hours of development and thousands of real road tests. It includes a high-precision map engine, multi-sensor fusion solutions for high-precision positioning, cloud vehicle control, vehicle platform adaptation and control, deep learning-based vehicle and pedestrian recognition, and autonomous driving path planning software, among other components. This software can help developers in the autonomous driving industry, car manufacturers, and technology companies quickly validate autonomous driving technology and accelerate mass production, while also being suitable for commercial development in scenarios such as autonomous ride-hailing taxis and heavy truck convoys.
This is the second release of an autonomous driving software suite by Huanyu Zhixing following the launch of the third-generation "TITAN" autonomous vehicle controller in June this year, making it one of the few internet technology companies in China to provide a complete set of autonomous driving solutions (hardware and software).
At the press conference, Huanyu Zhixing live-streamed the road testing process of a heavy truck equipped with the "ATHENA" autonomous driving software. On the afternoon of the 17th, at a 5G-connected summit testing site in Beijing, a modified heavy truck successfully completed multiple autonomous driving test projects, including starting, lane changing, accelerating, and turning.
"The successful testing on heavy trucks marks that the 'ATHENA' software has reached a leading level in China," said Zhang Pin, the R&D head of the "ATHENA" project at Huanyu Zhixing. Due to the heavy load and large size of heavy trucks, they have shorter braking distances, more blind spots, and greater vehicle vibrations, which pose significant challenges to the algorithms and perception of autonomous driving, making it a recognized technical difficulty in the field of autonomous driving applications.
